Hi, I’m Victoria 👋
I was inspired to start Sail Through Change after my own career renaissance. After some health challenges I needed a change of pace so I ‘retired’ from life as a corporate VP.
The first few months were unexpectedly tough. I presumed life without work would be simple and the ways to fill my time would be obvious and plentiful. In fact, I learned the hard way that Aristotle was right when he said ‘nature abhors a vacuum”.
I was used to running at 100% & so I immediately started time consuming writing courses to fill the gap in my days. It quickly became obvious that I had completely lost sight of what I actually wanted. I simply had not slowed down long enough to work that out!
Finally, I sat down and developed a way to find my way out. This became one of the methodologies I now use to help others in the same boat.
It took me about a year to fully decompress and find myself again. If you are at the beginning of this journey & feeling lost - I promise you there is hope!
My background & experience
👍 I have lived this journey & so understand the reality of midlife change. This is a time of life when multiple identity shifts hit at once. Health challenges, empty nests, losing parents, career changes - all without the safety net of careers advisors or health visitors that we have at the start of these roles.
👍 I am a Henley Business School trained executive coach with 25 years leadership experience. I have held management board roles in HR and business transformation & have worked across the world with a broad range of clients in all sectors
👍 I am a member of The International Coaching Federation, committed to professional coaching & the highest ethical standards in my practice
👍 I balance empathy and support with challenge and action orientation
A little more about me if you are really interested…
🇦🇺I am a dual national Aussie/Brit - so always a little bit homesick wherever I am!
🇬🇧 Currently living in the UK with my family and my trusty black Labrador - you will find us in the woods or at the beach
⛵️I have been a keen sailor since I was 5. The lessons I learned from years of yacht racing are the inspiration for one of my coaching methodologies & my first book (very much a work in progress)
🧠 I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 50’s. I now make space in my practice for others going through the same journey.
